Running his first 400 as a professional, Norman ran the one-lap race in a scintillating 43.45 seconds, the fastest ever 400 run in the month of April.

At the 59th edition, when all was said-and-done, 75 marks were top 20 in the world, including six world-leading marks, two national collegiate records and seven NCAA Division I season-leading marks. There were also two national high school marks broken and 15 meet records broken.
