About the Session

This presentation will cover methods to develop strength, power and explosiveness using a variety of techniques. These techniques include: Multi-Jumps (Plyos), Multi-Throws (Medicine Ball) and Resistance Training using dumbbells, kettlebells, barbells and bodyweight movements. You will be presented with many options to improve your athlete's performance regardless if you have a weight room or not.

About the Presenter

Coach Nick Garcia is a graduate of St. Francis High School in Mountain View, CA, where he won ALL-WCAL honors as an offensive guard and shot putter in track & field. While at Cal State University Northridge, Garcia earned his Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Kinesiology and was a two-time Big Sky champion in the shot put. He teaches PE, coaches the throwing events and is the Strength & Conditioning coach for Notre Dame High School. Garcia has achieved IAAF Level 5 and USATF Level III certification in the throws—the highest certifications available in the track & field world.
