LA84 Foundation - MT. SAC RELAYSINStructional Clinic program
To encourage “fun and friendship through sport” and to introduce children to the sport of track & field, the LA84 Foundation and Mt. SAC have teamed up to provide teams of coaches and athletes to offer motivational and instructional programs from February 20 to March 19, 2024. Schools may either make a field trip to Mt. SAC or the clinic staff will go to the school to teach children about track & field.
Participation Options
ASSEMBLY / CLINIC AT YOUR SCHOOL
Request an instructional clinic / assembly program at your school. A minimum attendance of 300 is required. We recommend one assembly for grades 3-4 and one for grades 5-6, with the program running approximately 50-60 minutes long.
FIELD TRIP TO MT. SAC AND LEARN BY DOING CLINIC
Request a field trip to Mt. SAC for a 3-hour “learn-by-doing” instructional clinic at the Mt. SAC Hilmer Lodge Stadium. The program will be 9:00am to 12:00 noon with a minimum attendance of 70 and a maximum of 200.
HELP SETTING UP YOUR OWN TRACK MEET
Request an LA84 Foundation-Mt. SAC consultant to help set up a track meet at your school. A one-hour planning session will lay the groundwork for your event. At the event, the LA84 Foundation-Mt. SAC team will help conduct and officiate the meet. We will also provide the necessary supplies and ribbon awards. A minimum of 30 days in advance is necessary to plan / organize the event.
All schools scheduling clinics will be given two (2) FREE Track & Field Instructional Books (3rd. Edition). Teachers who organize their schools instructional clinic will receive a LA84 Foundation-Track & Field coaches shirt (limit 3 shirts per school).
