RUN4FUN Festival

LA84 Foundation Run4Fun Festival returns! Train with your school for an exciting & challenging 2K race at Mt. SAC. With our partner the LA84 Foundation, this 10-week program is designed to provide a sports/fitness opportunity for middle school boys & girls particularly as an introduction to the many benefits of running & racing for the “new” runner.
The program, in cooperation with several Los Angeles area school districts, utilizes existing physical education curricula and after-school programs to introduce youth to running for fun, fitness and competition. The LA84 Foundation provides a recommended weekly training regimen of introductory running games, activities & drills and material for school site publicity & promotion as well as transportation for participating schools to attend the Run4Fun Festival at Mt. SAC. During the free program, there are three timed competitions at the 3-, 5- and 7-week intervals for distances of 800 meters, 1000 meters and Mile, ending with the finale run at Mt. SAC.
RUN4FUN FESTIVAL SUMMARY
- 2K (1.25 miles) cross country course at Mt. SAC on Saturday, November 1, 2024
- Separate age/grade races for boys & girls
- Free t-shirt for all participants
- Medals to top three individual male and female finishers in each grade
- Trophies to the top three schools in each grade
