Specific Drills to Improve High School Hurdlers

About the Session

If you are a coach that knows the basics of hurdling, but needs a more detailed idea of how to teach kids to really improve their technique, this class is for you. This class is more focused on details of good hurdling. You will receive many drills to teach good hurdling, and you will be given information for the "go-to" drill that will teach your athletes how to 3-step or sprint in between hurdles.

About the Presenter

Coach Micheal Wellington is a graduate of Valencia High School where he learned the craft of hurdling and became league champ as a senior.  He attended Cal State University, Northridge where he also ran hurdles. He earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from CSUN and his Master’s in Education from University of La Verne. Wellington was previously the Head Coach at Alemany High School from 2013-20, where he helped to produce a Division 3 Girls Championship Team and three Runner-Up Teams. He was also able to send 22 athletes to college on scholarships, and produce several state & nationally ranked hurdlers, both at the high school level and privately in the hurdle races. Micheal Wellington also has his USATF certification in Sprints, Hurdles and Relays.
