About the Session

This course will focus on the drills and training modalities for horizontal jumps with an emphasis on the triple jump. There will be a discussion of the reasons for the drills and the proper time of the season to use them. There will be ample time to answer any questions regarding the drills but also any questions about the triple jump. So come prepared with questions!

About the Presenter

Willie Banks, who held the World Record in the Triple Jump (58’11 ½”) from 1985-1995 and the American Record holder from 1981-1996, was a member of three U.S. Olympic teams, including being selected captain of the 1988 team. Banks was a two-time California State Champion while a student at Oceanside High School, and he earned All-American honors four times at UCLA. In 1985, he was named Track & Field News Athlete of the Year.
